ahhh.....y'all have been chatting away in here while i'm twiddling my, uhh, thumbs.....unaware.

here's da deal-e-o.....

i am overwhelmed with inspiration.and am considering going on ADD meds because i'm like a kid, unable to concentrate, giggling all the time....a nuisance.

i am outta here again for a month or so, which is gonna be another rad experience (be happy for me) but will delay new things (be mad at me)..and need to find a subletter. the word is out. plus i have the hottest, hippest, coolest housemates in all of LA, possibly the world.

erin (dusty) and i have a new project that is sorta nameless for now. but we're taking the show on the road (keep reading). here's a clue: the name will be known as the UU's on the street, discuss.

sooo, the new name is a quote from the chuck palahniuk novel, lullaby . (read it.) i had been becoming less and less connected with gypsycowgirls (for a multitude of reasons, none too important) but i had it for 3 years, which is a pretty good run on focus for a fickle asshole such as myself.

...in summary:

be excited that i'll be on a new DVD (but i have no idea when it'll be out! oops)
be mad that although i have great new stuff in mind, it'll be a few before it's around
be appreciative because monica is the best moderator/ BFF a lady could have, and you know she makes you laugh.
be annoyed because i'm increasing more difficult to get ahold of/ order from, and i had to cancel my workshop & judging at faizeh's rad "hips of fury"
(plug: palmdale, ca 10.21.06 www.hipsoffury.com....'cause you know you wanna be a "champion bellydancer". don't front.)
be irritated that my new site is still not up. but it's gonna rule, you can't wait.
be extatic if you're in one of the following cities (because then maybe we can hangout, get tipsy, and that'll make ME happy!)

hey ladies and gents....

so here it goes, the dreaded update!

so, i am now offcially settled into life in LA, or as settled as i can ever let myself be. it's been a crazy transition and one that i don't think my brain has fully realized yet....it's been beautiful, passionate and VERY fun....being young, single and out for a good time can be a lethal combination-- i think alot of my friends think i'm nuts. it's okay i like it that way.

okay, BUSINESS! i have been on a slight hiatus with costuming due to the move and a few weeks of a really heavy performance and travel schedule. add that to big ol' life changes and you've got disaster! add that to living in a brand new space that has no mailbox and no regular post-person and you've got supply issues. yep. issues left and right!

for those of you waiting for orders be assured they are on their way.

SOOOO i am redoing the site to reflect some new monsters i've been slaying and also plan on soon hiring an army of small children to complete my vision.

*PLEASE order buttons NOW if you'd like them for tribal caravan or tribal fest. the deadline for TF orders is april 25th.

WOW! I have a plethera of a great versitile craft material for that lends itself to all sorts of fun projects. I have come accross a bunch of imported coffee sacks. They are so cool all of them have interesting emblems from places such as brasil, ecuador, africa etc.. with exotic logos. They range in thickness, weight and texture, I have used them for curtins, purses, grocery bags and just decoration! I know that you crafty vixens could really run with this idea. So on NYE I am going to a white party and getting all decked out for some hooping craziness. I got lots of cool white/silver rope cords, some ribbons, and strips of neat fabric and I want to make some sort of headdress/dreadfall thing. I will be waering my hair in two high buns and was thinking I should sew all the goodies to two scruncihes and attach it that way....Is this the best way to go about that or is there some trick I haven't fathomed yet?

we are having you park in a secure area downtown. Shuttles will take
you from this area to the warehouse. We have 3 shuttles running every 5
minutes. They will say "HIPGENESIS FILMS" on the dash board. Know that
adventure, excitement, and wonder await you at the end of this shuttle

There are several parking lots on this corner. You can park for free
at the japanese village parking structure. Or, if you prefer, You can
pay 4$ and park in the lot across the street. There is ample street parking
as well. This is a well lit, safe area. There is parking down near the
office depot, which is 1/2 a block away as well.

Jump in a shuttle, ON CENTRAL, WHERE 1ST STREET CROSSES IT. Its a 3
minute ride to the location. Shuttles will be running all night from 9
pm until 5 am.

tribal belly dancers for tribal people....

many of you may have seen this around tribe and haven't yet heard the full story, had the time or money or desire to donate but here's another plea. it took me a few reads to really let it sink in-- modern busy life sometimes clouds one's level of compassion, sadly enough.

nomadic people in Niger are facing a major drought, killing up to 70% of their livestock and causing a famine. $50 million is needed to feed these people. the next harvest is not until october, leaving them desparate for another 1 month+, many of them living on less than i meal a day.....and come harvest all will not be solved, long-term solutions are needed.

this is just the beginning. below are links with more information on the problem.....i donated 20% of my sales from vending last weekend to nomadgal.com-- not only is she doing amazing work, she's is there herself, dealing with the problem first-hand. that in itself is to be commended. she is also based in ojai, making her my (our) neighbor.

send someone 5 bucks. look under your couch cushions. sell something you don't use on eBay. can you even imagine how far $5 goes in Niger????

the sisterhood dance collective (west) will be dancing with seeds of whatever sept. 18th at the underground in ventura. all proceeds will go to the people of Niger....

Coachella, then you know how much love and energy we pour into our events.
With Lucent Delirium we're going to take it to the next level. The Do LaB
has been working around the clock to ensure that Oct 1st
will be spectacular, certainly our greatest event yet, and we are excited
to share it with all of you.

What's in store for Lucent Delirium?

First off, we've teamed up with Lorin (Bassnectar) to help him release his
newest album "Mesmerizing the Ultra". He'll be playing a 2 hour set on a 4
corner turbo sound system shaking the bricks loose in the building. The
albums great, go check it out...

We're also bringing in world renowned dj Cheb i Sabbah as our special guest
to help us celebrate with his unique sounds of world music and bhangra beats.

And to spice things up a bit, we're having the dusty duo that rocked the
flower art car at Burning Man with their sexy acid jazz, Helios Jive! They
score the incredible music for Lucent Dossier and they bring us to our feet
every time!!!! If you've seen them before, then you've most likely danced
your booty off. It's fun, its fresh, its sexy, its the jive!

Also sharing their beats with us are the underground favorites David
Starfire, Patricio, Porter Tinsley, Jupiter, Dandelion, and Sammy Bliss.
Each of these dj's have been making waves in their respective communities
and we're bringing them all together for one night of madness.

The fun certainly doesn’t stop there though... We've got crazy entertainment
popping out of every corner starting with the Lucent Dossier Vaudeville
Cirque. They've been dancing up a storm and there's a new wacky show in
store for you.

Plus from San Diego, a sensual fire belly dance performance by the beautiful
ladies of Atash Maya and a cute and sassy show by DangerSassyPants.
You can also catch pieces of "Fancy", a one man clown
show by none other than Vladimir Levitansky, or gaze at an enormous junk
wall while master painters Shrine, Carlos, Jesse, and Shannon paint the hell
out of it in front of your eyes. Stop by the Stardust Salon and have
extensions put into your hair or visit Buddha Monkey's Bag of Accessories
and add a little something to bring your outfit to life. We'll also have
body painting and henna tattoos, and if you're feeling crafty you can mold
clay in a workshop with Christian the Blacksmith. Or just roam the gallery
to check out the art on the walls and sit back and relax in the
headphone lounge. Hungry? Grab an organic vegan snack
from PlayFood and re-energize, cause the music's still banging and there's lots
of fun to be had!!

things have been quiet in here, i have been slaving away trying to get out the new stuffs! i was inundated with special orders for the burn and getting ready for upcoming shows....

upcoming vending:

*tribal cafe in redlands next weekend- august 19th-21st
the sisterhood dance colletive performs saturday around 3
workshop with myself and ayse cerami on sunday.....

*hips of fury, october 23rd in the desert somewhere, sorry i can't 'member where right now! it's a competition and your's truly is on the judging panel along with rachel lazarus-soto and kami liddle, as well as a bunch of other great dancers.....

other notables:
*blood moon regale, in sacramento october 29th (just me dancing, no vending)....presented by unmata this is going to be amazing! this is not your normal bellydance show..... i'm an animal, i'm not sure how much info is out there so i'll leave it at dat!
the show features unmata, shawna rai, kami liddle, origin, and a bunch of other talented dancers......

*a weekly gig is in the works for me, i dont want to jinx it tho.....

....so many new pictures to put in the album, but probably won't get to it until after tribal cafe, i am also redesigning my site so keep an eye out for that too!

due to the insane amount of requests for custom saddlebags i am going to post info here:

*single side (1/2 saddle style) or double
-each side includes at least 3 pockets, one secure, one stach and only accessable....

*estimated hip measurement
-each one is adjustable 3 inches in each direction too....

*main color/ fabric preference
- i only use very sturdy cotton denim or twill, these are meant to last a lifetime......
-i have a limited supply of vintage hand-embroidered choli fronts that are available too....

these are fully customizable and a great alternative to a purse!
they rock for festivals and vendors especially....let me know your needs and we'll put a special one together.....

lead time is currently 3 weeks, or you can pre-order for pick up at tribal cafe and save money on shipping...

Tickets are now on sale 15.00 each or 20.00 at the door without ticket. If you come with flyer or are a student of Atash Maya you will receive a 2.00 discount at the door.

You can also buy tickets at Cafe LuLu on Sunday nights before during and after the show. LuLu Showtime ’s are between 8:30 pm and 10:30 every Sunday, @ Cafe LuLu 419 F street in the Gaslamp.

Now, the updated yummy stuff ….. The theme is still Blue Asia so you can dress however you wish according to the meaning and what it means to you. Charity info will be sent with tix, and will also be available at Cafe lulu. All profits and donations are going to the orphanage's in Indonesia that were affected by the Tsunami, and I am also hoping I can get some help there for the recent victims of Last nights 8.5 earthquake.
